ANNA MARSH Deputy CEO CANAL+ Group & CEO STUDIOCANAL HONOURED WITH THE FABIENNE VONIER PRIZE AT THE 2024 LUMIERE FESTIVAL

Anna Marsh, Deputy CEO of CANAL+ Group and CEO of STUDIOCANAL, was honored with the Fabienne Vonier Prize following her speech on stage at the Marché International du Film Classique, where she appeared as guest of honor on October 18th. The event is part of the Lumière Festival dedicated to classic cinema, which celebrated its 15th anniversary.

Every year since 2016, the Fabienne Vonier Prize has been awarded to a woman in the film industry. It is dedicated to the memory of Fabienne Vonier, co-founder of the Pyramide company.

Anna Marsh, Deputy CEO of CANAL+ Group and CEO of STUDIOCANAL: “I am incredibly honoured to receive The Fabienne Vonier Prize. Festival Lumière means so much to everyone at STUDIOCANAL and the CANAL+ Group, a major event for all the catalogue teams. This award is a recognition of the considerable work they have accomplished these past years, and it is thanks to them that STUDIOCANAL has the privilege of curating the largest films catalogue in Europe. We are continually working to expand and restore it in order to bring the very best in cinema to future generations. It's a privilege to participate in the Lumière Festival and to present our documentary Becoming Hitchcock. I sincerely thank organisers for their continued support and passion for cinema."

During her speech at the Marché International du Film Classique, Anna Marsh discussed STUDIOCANAL’s strategy for maintaining and promoting its catalogue, as well as its challenges for the future. She also reminded that close to 25 million euros has been invested into the 4K restoration of nearly 1 000 classic feature films over the past 7 years. Anna Marsh’s speech was followed by a preview screening of BECOMING HITCHCOCK – THE LEGACY OF BLACKMAIL, a documentary on the inimitable cinema of Alfred Hitchcock, produced by STUDIOCANAL and directed by the talented – and multiple award-winning – Laurent Bouzereau. STUDIOCANAL is also particularly grateful to historian, critic and filmmaker Elvis Mitchell for agreeing to narrate this story. The documentary will be included in a new Blu-ray box set of 10 films by the filmmaker, which will be distributed in England and Germany in December 2024 and in France, via our partner Carlotta, in April 2025. Other releases will follow on CINE+ OCS in France, TCM in the United States, as well as on STUDIOCANAL PRESENTS in Germany and the United Kingdom.
